Japanese Hand Massage
Japanese Hand Massage is a mix of Shiatsu, Reflexology and Acupressure massage which combined together with traditional western massage techniques, gives a treatment that will make you sigh with pleasure,as you hands and arms are treated with the love and care they deserve. Our hands are one of the most overused part of the body and work very hard, sadly they are neglected most of the time, being lucky to have a drop of hand cream applied every now and again.
Reflexology is over 5000 years old , it is shown on wall paintings from Egypt and China. The benefits of reflexology are numerous. Massage and the application of pressure to points that represent the organs and parts of the body stimulate the body to heal itself and for stagnant energy and energy blocks to be removes in order the positive vital energy can flow through the body. The most common form of reflexology is on the feet, blockages can be felt on this type of reflexology. it can also be applied to the hands and the ears, which also map the body, though is is less likely for blockages to be felt when using these methods. this does not invalidate the effectiveness of using reflexology on the hands or ears.
Shiatsu originates from Japan. The underlying philosophy of Shiatsu is that energy flows along lines in the body know as meridian lines. Pressure applied along these energy lines can balance the flow of energy (Ki) to encourage the healing of the organs and balancing of the body systems.
Acupressure is the manual application of pressure on the set points using the fingers instead of needles as in acupuncture. Acupressure allows the stimulating of biochemical changes which promote the body to use its natural healing abilities. It encourages the flow of the bodies own pain killers such as endorphins and opiods. It also boosts the immune systems cells and reactions.
